Hypospadias Service

Hypospadias is a congenital condition in males where the opening of the urethra, the tube through which urine and, in some cases, semen pass out of the body, is located on the underside of the penis instead of at the tip. In a typical male, the urethral opening is at the tip of the penis. However, in individuals with hypospadias, this opening may be anywhere along the underside of
the penis, often closer to the scrotum. Hypospadias can vary in severity, with some cases having a mild curvature of the penis and a urethral opening that is only slightly displaced, while more severe cases may have a significant curvature and the opening may be located near the base of the penis. The exact cause of hypospadias is not always clear, but it is believed to be influenced by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Surgery is typically recommended to correct hypospadias, and the procedure aims to reposition the urethral opening to the tip of the penis
and straighten any curvature. The timing of the surgery may vary depending on the individual and their specific case, but it is often performed during early childhood.
While the surgery can usually correct the anatomical issues associated with hypospadias, long-term outcomes and potential complications can vary. It’s essential for individuals with hypospadias to receive appropriate medical care and follow-up to ensure the best possible
outcome. this is my specialty, and my surgical outcomes are comparable with international standards I have doing this surgery for more than 30 years
